Jetting 2 Years, 9 Months ago
Hi Doc

I have 2005 Star,it's got V&H longshots, and I put a Dynojet kit in. I set the needle on the 4th grove from the top and a 175 main jet, the bike seems to run well except a high speed. If I open it up to about 130 km per hr and then close the throttle and then open it up again, it doesn't pick up right away, it's hard to describe, I have to turn the grip what seems to be a third of the way open before it picks up .and then it feels like it's Chugging ,Like tryin to pull away with the choke on then it picks up and away I go. It's like your when your bike is running out gas and you turn on the reserve and it pick right up.
It has a stock air box, I have removed the AIS system and relocated the fuel pump under the cover, any light you can shed on this would be appreacted.

Thanks

Charlie

The main controls the gas at high speed (3/4 to full throttle) and it sounds like you may be starving for fuel.

We've been recommending a 180 DJ main with the clip on 3.

Here's one way to mount you pump under the tank .... http://www.geocities.com/fatbike4/Fuel_Pump.html

You can also put it over the backbone behind the ignition key (I'm out the door so I'll try and find a pic later.)
