air cleaner/exhaust pipe setup 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I installed the Yamaha long pipes with the Baron/K&N Filter. I rejetted the carb according to the specs but never has seemed to run right. Purrs when it is cold outside runs like a dog in hot weather. Pops on deceleration and sometimes coughs when accelerating from a stop. Without taking the carb apart I dont remember jet sizes...been a few years... With this setup though any recommendation for pilot and main jet size?

Well I guess I could let you know that I have an 06 R* 1700 Silverado but that might make it too easy

Is your AIS removed? that would have something to do with the popping on decel. You also may need to adjust your accelerator pump

starting point

I will say I fiddled with my carb for years trying to get it dialed in, switched to an HSR42 and finally gave up and took it to a dyno and it runs awesome now wish I had done that a long time ago.

I'd guess you're running rich. Without knowing what brand and size jets, I can't offer more suggestions

If you used the Baron's jet kit that came with the Baron's BAK then your main is most likely and the main a 172.5, the pilot a 35 but depends on where you set the clip on the needle. Have you tried adjusting your PMS if it was set when cold then it should be reset for hot weather.
