How many miles can one expect to get out of the ME880's with "normal" riding?

I replaced my stock front tire around 4000 miles, due to a nail in the sidewall. I replaced the rear tire about 6000 miles due to it being wore out. I put Metzler's on the front and rear, and I've got 13,500 miles total on the bike so far. These tires are supposed to be good for 8000 to 10,000 miles, but the back one is starting to flatten out a bit. I expect to replace them within the next 1000 miles. Got to wait till I get the Cabella's credit card paid down a bit.

Actually, the Bridgestones that were on my Roadie were quite good in the rain. I never expereinced any problem with them. However, I did watch the air pressure on both the front and rear tire and got better than 9,000 miles on them before I replaced them both.

And I did put on the Metzler 880's. They made a real difference in the way my bike handled. It handles more like a sport bike now..... easier to turn in, smoother ride and really good traction, on dry pavement or in the rain.

I generally run more air pressure in the tires than I did with the Bridgestones. I am running 40 in the front and 43 in the rear. The tires are wearing very nicely, no cupping at all.

I'll go back with the ME880's. I think they're keepers in my book.
