You're probably carbonned up. Do the top end cleaner treatment soon.

Even in Sydney you should have to use a bit of choke on a cold bike to get it started. Once it's running (5-10 sec) you can push it in.

That was kind of an important clue to leave out. I agree. you're probably carboned up now.

Afternoon Colonel how are things down under bud.... as many miles as you have ... carbon build up probably but to me SVS was caused by poor quality control by Yami yours is a fixable problem by adjusting your settings ...but my opinion as worthless as it may be would be you are running rich somewhere... run the cleaner and check your carb setup as suggested ... but you may also want to check Muskys new choke check as your bike may be running rich because of the choke being pulled out too far and not being able to hmmmmmm best words I can come up with are the end is not bottoming out and seat properly and you hear the loud sucking sound when it doesn't...thus you need no choke to start her ....either that or she is too rich on the Carb settings as she is as cold hearted as they come, and needs to have the ...Choke Enricher ....or as the book calls it the starter piston pulled out to start 26000 miles ..your problem cant be called A typical SVS...just MY opinion...have a good one...Coug

You guys are great, I will investigate further,

BUT when its runnin OK I start saying things like "Oh well, If it aint broken dont fix it..."

Musky, the bike started to play up well before that time when I left it on full choke for too long.

It happens sometimes on a very short choke for about 10 seconds.... It just dont like the choke at all...

Thanks Guys... I will do all you suggest, as this problem never happens when Im with the mechanic!!

Dump in a bottle of seafoam, MMO , or Ringfree(if you can afford the stuff!)on a full tank, take her out, run her a little harder than normal through that tankful, and that will get the carbon out of there. Won't hurt to throw in some new plugs, and many recommend an oil change after a "shock" treatment. That should get you back to square one. Hope it helps. BB
