Hi everyone, I have my air kit ordered and was wondering if there was any place
that sells the adjustable needle and jets without buying a whole jet kit? If so
where.

Curt,
I have a stock 2006 carb with grizzly needle & seat under the float, a barons adjuster for the PMS, air pump removed, no fuel pump. and I have a Thunder Mfg. Tornado air kit ordered along with the new Freedom duels with the 4 inch cans. I didn't want to order a jet kit for fear that they wont have the proper jets for the larger dia. pipes. Not sure what jets i need for 900-1100 ft ASL I was going with the Bassani headers but the Better Half intervened, saying hat I waited for 6 yrs for new pipes and air kit so no jury-rigging. She said she liked the looks of the New Freedoms with the 4" cans, so poor me, I'm getting stuck with the New Freedoms. I can never win with Her.

If you're not jury riggin, then why not go for the proper jet kit? Just go and get a Barons kit, it will come with all ya need. It's that simple.

If it'll come with everything I need I'll go that way. I've seen in the
past where people needed different jet than what comes with the kit. I didn't know
if the larger diameter pipes would require a different size jet, and if I had to buy a special size jet why not buy the needle also instead of the kit.
I really trust yours and Curt's opinion, so if you think the Barons kit is the way to go
I'll get one. I'm not cheap but hate buying things that wont work for me.

Barons come with Mikuni jets, no need to change the pilot jet. The big issue that a lot overlook is intake leaks. Even the smallest of leaks can drive you up a wall.
The DJ kit comes with either too small or too large a jet, but their needle does not require a pilot jet change either. |
