I found that when it is hot and I restart after a short stop that mine does the same thing. But only when I get right on the throttle. If I let it idle for a few seconds after a restart and before giving it gas all is well. Might not be a fix but I don't have the problem of it stalling either.

When the fuel expands in the bowl because of the heat around the carb when the bike is standing still, it comes out of everywhere, jets, bowl vent, etc....... and you are getting a flooded situation, which is causing the hard start. You can roll the throttle completely open to provide extra air, and it will help to get the bike started. You can end up with a similar situation when the needle and seat doesn't close properly....for whatever reason, after shutting the bike off.
As signalzero mentioned, just turning the fuel off for a few moments before shutting the bike off is probably all the cure you need. This will lower the fuel level in the bowl, and allow for heat expansion.

Thanks for all the replies i will try shutting off the fuel before the bike and see what that does....yes it seemed to me like it was flooding itself. it's not taking it long to start in these situations, just longer than it normally does when the bike is cool.

i remember when i was running the stock carb if i stoped the bike and tried to restart it after say 10-15minutes or something like that it was a pain to start up sometimes always just figurede it was nature of the beast but now that im running a hsr carb she fires right up as soon as i hit the start button all the time everytime still havent figured out why but i think it has alot to do with the size of the fuel bowl on the hsr carb being much bigger and the needle valve being bigger so the heat dont have the hard start problem near as much. so if im right as well as insulating the fuel lines insulate the carb bowl if you can bet it will help alot

As others have said, in two words, 'extreme heat'.
Nothing to add other than to validate that it has happened to me, too. I have even stalled out once or twice after getting it started and accelerating between first and second gear. Again, extreme heat.
Besides running regaular 91 octane exclusively, and hitting my gas tank with some carb cleaner a couple of times after it happened, it has been solved since by closing the fuel valve before shutting down.

I made one trip to the Pensacola Yammie dealer, and came away with the same opinion. This guy was sporting his best attitude with the hair, rings in his ears, and just the right trim to his beard, but that's where it ended.

I am having the same problem but mine is when starting it cold in the morning.. (cold here is 18 Celsius)...
I think that is related with floater not closing well... the strange thing is that smoke only comes form the back cylinder and bike spout for a time and then settle in idle.
I closed the tank valve on Saturday and today morning before starting it just open it prior starting it up, and it started way better...
So i bought all the seals and needle kit to change on my R*.
I have been debugging my bike slowly but steady... i just bought a AIS removal kit (baron) and also a jet kit form Yamaha that has the special needle that is adjustable. I will soon ask for help when doing this...
Also when running in very hot weather is it better to disconnect the carb heater? maybe this will help with the boiling issue... i am thinking to do this...

Seems to me that what you're discribing is the same thing I get when I twist the throtle before I hit the start button. Don't do that.
