I have no solution for the header pipe joint, but will point out we used to find pressurization leaks i aircraft with cigarrettes prior to no smoking rules. Never thought of using incense! Great tip.

Does the Dyna 3000 or speedstar go on the front of the battery box housing like the stock IM? I know it is not that hard to get out, but it is kind of a rat's nest! I installed a 2005 IM on my '03, and really am satisfied with the additional 500 RPM. I understand a tailored ignition curve could yield more, but hey, I'm cheap!

There are some compounds that some of the guy here have used. I am not sure what it is called but they say it works. Maybe some will read this and pipe in and tell you what to use. Glad you found the leak.

At this point, I will only say that I have found A leak. The ride to work this morning indicates that the additional 1/4 turn last night didn't help. I may end up disassembling, cleaning and repack it.

You could see the cylinder pulse as the tip of the incense stick would glow and fade, glow and fade. Pretty cool.

Don't know anything about the Dyna. This bike doesn't seem to have one.

I know on Shadows, guys would re-locate the dyna, to be able to access the dip switches for cahnges, and then would re-nest them after the sweet setup was settled on. Did not know if this is possible on the Road Star, given the location and harness length.

I just sent off a note to Cobra for their input. We'll see if they have anything to contribute.

Keep this going some one that knows the goop that they used to seal it will pop up sooner or later. You could talk to a good muffler shop as well they might know of something.

JD the 3000 is in front of the battery box I think there is a tech article on cutting a hole in the battery box like I did to make the switches available without taking the 3000 out. I can just po my battery out change the switches and pop it back in. I have only set them once after I did it I went from 34A to 36A when I put my 45 on.
