Need help from someone who has a Barons and a Dyna needle. I've read the dyna needle is 1 washer shorter than the Barons. So if the clip is in the 3rd groove w/ 1 washer on the dyna needle it would be the same as 3rd w/ 2 washers on the Barons. Right?  Anywho if someone who has both could measure them it would solve the mystery for me.
Guess you would neeed a dial caliper or something too huh

I don't have both around to measure, but I once measured both including their tapers to see if I could come up with an alternative (I made a batch af about twenty that were essentially compromises of the two).
The problem is that since they use different tapers, needle length alone won't allow you to interpolate them like this.

I never saw Joel mention the difference in the taper though. He might have and i missed it. That would enter in to the equation too. This is one of those curiosity questions that gets stuck in my head and I drive people nuts trying to find an answer. You've seen those from me before.
