jetting, pleases help 2 Years, 8 Months ago
Here is where I am at, 185dj, neeedle 3rd position, v@h longshots no baffles. When trying to reach 100mph the bike runs out of gas at 95mph. I just went from a 170dj main, and the bike wouldnt even pull 85mph with it. I noticed a big power imorovement from the 170 to 185. So should I go to a 190main, or raise needle or is the float bowl running out of gas. Float is set to a hair above rear mating service. No pump, bigger petcock and needle seat. Bike runs great everywhere else. Dynojet recomends a 190 or 200, just seemed to big to me from everything I have read. But maby their right. Any suggestions?

That's correct ..... go to the DJ 190.

The main is mostly from 3/4 to full throttle so if you're running out of gas then increase the main. Leaving everything else the same for now.

I wonder if even with the larger needle seat one is not able to override the need for the pump?
