PMS without fancy stuff. Set the idle to close to 900. S l o w l y turn the PMS in until the bike Stumbles. Then counting the turns go out on the PMS s l o w l y until the bike stumlebs again. Half way between is good. Doc taught me that one and it works.

I GOT A NOTICE WITH ONE OF MY KITS FROM DYNAJET THAT THERE WERE SOME COUNTERFIT KITS ON THE MARKET. LOOKED AND MARKED AS DYNA BUT LOW QUALITY AND MAINLY THE JETS WERE NOT ACURATE. JUST DO THE "CLINIC WAY".

MY CARB WAS ALL GOOFED UP FROM LAST OWNER, AND IT STILL RAN OK, BUT AFTER THE CLINIC IT'S NIIIICE!

P.S. CHECK THE FLOAT?

If you have a tach that's the ticket.

Just make sure to set the idle rpm to 900 first and then turn the PMS in and out until you max the rpm out. Then you can turn the idle down to whatever you wish.

just got her done, put a 170 main, ended up clip on 3rd notch down from top with a washer so it half way to the 4th notch. adjusted the pms. when i got her dialed in before i did the WFO plug check. found out its at 2.75 turns out on stock pilot jet. did the poormans BAK mod did it alittle diffrent. put three 1inch hole on the front side and 3 1inch hole on the back side. so i have 6 holes going around ahould add some good air flow. to the K&N replacement filter. till i find the BAK i want from barons. well it runs better thats what i care about right now. the plugs are almost black just a very dark brown color. little bit rich but should lean out when it gets hotter out this summer.

ok before i had a wrong plug reading. I forgot i didnt change my plugs they were black when i rejetted the bike. I went out for a nice ride about 45 miles. rode it hard. did 4th gear roll no miss pulled strong from low rpms to rev limiter. did that a couple of times then just rode it normal. great ride for being 50 degs out side. well got back to my shop. pulled the left rear plug. its a very light brown color. with is good. I had the saying backwards in my last post. lean when its 50 degs out is a little richer when its 80 degs out. still a tad rick on the pilot going to re set the PMS again when it a little bit warmer out. right now its good idles great

yup put two washers under the white plastic spacer. with the 6 1 inch holes in the stock air box, made a nice change in performance. need to get the manifold ported. and my barons BAK.

wear where you guys when i was doing this today. ok 167.5 and a 170 main. should get me in the ball park.
pilot is stock. im going to stay with the DJ needle do adjust the midrange. I'm also going to do the poormans BAK. so i'll also get a 172.5 main just incase.

I wasn't aware that the DJ needle was compatable with the Mikuni jets. I thought they were using a different taper in the jets.
