ok hope yall can help me out,, my 99 has cobra longshots and a factory air cleaner,,,no clu whats been done to the motor on this bike guy said it had been jetted but i dont know why it would have been,,,it runs real good but seems to redline way to fast,,,my buddy has a 2003 and his will red in sec gear at 60 mine does about 50 if that ,,i did the revmaster and it made no difference,,,,do you guys think it could be a jet problem and not getting anough air,,, id love to get some more performance out of this thing,,,hs bike has the barrons big air kit and v & hines pipes any help is appreciated

and also im cluless on the ais removal and all that stuff,,,ha ha no clue what will haelp me out,,im a suspension guy lol

droptopcaddy,
One of the wrench gurus will step in, but I did one time see something about a chart that shows where these bikes should hit the rev limiter in each of the gears if completely stock. You have the 1600, so I really can't help you with details. I got a copy of the chart, and my '05 1700 hits the limiter right where it's supposed to -- 39 mph in 1st and 62 mph in 2nd. I also know that the 1700 rev limit is higher than the 1600.

are you saying that it starts cutting out at 50? mine is a 2001 and it hits the rev limiter at 52 - 55, it is bone stock axcept fot pipes

yea starts cutting out at 50 drops on its nose,,,52 to 55 on yours so your pretty close to mine but i added the rev tech thing from the dealer soposed to take it to 5000 rpm but it made no difference at all,,,also has anybody added a front cog for more bottom end,,,my buddies with the big air kit dont cut till 60 mph at least i want a new filter anyways what should i get? the barron flame looks pretty good

Are you sure it's the limiter and not running out of gas? Have you checked your float level?

no i havnt checked anyhting at this point,,,float level hmm,,guess there is a few things that could be wrong

First you need to find out what you have in there for jetting. While you're at it you can check the float level and make sure everything is working right.

ok,,i thik im gona order the baron big air inferno i want one of those anyways,,,that will take care of th e jets also,,,,any other recomendations on the ported intake manifold or torque master?

I would for sure port the manifold. Really helps pull everything together and helps get the most bang for the buck. My opinion anywho
