Float Level 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I am in the process of re-setting the float level on my carb because I have tried all other avenues with no success to alleviate a rich condition.
If I want to lower the level of fuel filling the bowl do I adjust the float toward the bottom of the bowl or the other way around. I am just having trouble getting my head around this.

Thanks
Topher

Join the club, I had a hard time seeing it in my head also. With the carb on the bike you want to lower the float so it takes less gas in the bowl to set the needle.

Have you tried to take your PCV vent tube from the intake throat and attach an oil breather element??? I had the same problem. I bought the element thru my yamaha dealer, EMIGO makes the part. I will tell you to order extra filters, due to the high pressure coming from the breather tube, you will blow the filter off after about 5-6 months of riding, that is if you are a spirited rider... You will find that once you remove the breather tube from the intake, you will also want to install a vacuum plug into the hole in the intake throat. You will find that you will have much stronger pulling power when you snap the throttle. If you have any questions or need pics, email me @ mbbreinig@verizon.net . Good luck and safe riding...
