Jet and needle mix 4 Years, 1 Month ago
I've seen some guys here talking about..its ok to mix a certain needle with certain jets. I have the DJ adj. needle that came with the Cobra jet kit. Can I use my new Mik. jets with that needle?

There's a short learning curve on getting to the the back float bowl bolts but once you come up with a method that works for you it cuts down on the time it takes to switch jets by a bunch.

This sounds like a great idea, changing the jets on the bike. Musky do you leave everything connected and work around everything? I guess since the bike is so low and a pain to get under the carb do you use to lift to raise the bike to a working position?

You take the airbox and gas tank off. That's it. And if you aren't messing with the needle you don't even have to do the tank. I work on my bike at work. I park my bike on the edge of the loading dock. That way everything is at eye level when I stand down in the lot. But I've also done it just by kneeling down.

Thanks, I'm changing my pilot jet next week. I'll put it on my lift and give it a try.

I run a dynojet needle with mikuni jets ...works fine....if you need to disconect the TPS unplug it at the electrical connection not at the carb.and if you remove the enricher cable slide it out easily ,,,dont jerk it ..also get a new set of screws for the carb body as they are extremely soft and will be buggered up when you remove them ,,,you may also get a few nuts to replace the one that releases the gas tank as you will go on test rides before buttoning her back up and loose a few I stock 6 or 8 of those ....I got hex head screw replacements for the carb body ...work real nice ...Coug
