runnin' rich 4 Years, 3 Months ago
First my set up...hc pistons barons bak 167.5/4th with shim pms@2 3/4-3,dyna3000 @28b.big willeys with 1 3/4 baffles. Ported manifold(barons)
Now the problem. Put the bike on a dyno recently and the afr was really rich on the main. Around 12:1 right off the needle and rose to about 13:1 by the time it cut out. It seems to run rich on the pms but it has to be or it runs like crap.and i did try the 165 mj but it was to lean. My question is, could the more restrictive baffles be causing it to run that much richer? Like a dumb#@% i tossed the stock baffes when i changed them. It seems like it's run rich since the install of the pistons. I'd like an opinion before i go and pay for the less restrictive baffles. thanks. ed
Oh yeah, its an 03.

I can't help much but give my own experience.

With the Barons Nasties and no baffles, I was at 170, #40 idle, 4.5 on the clip.

With the Barons baffles (10" straight pipe with perforations), no change except adjustment of the PMS.

With 12" baffles that have an internal restriction (difficult to explain but you can see them at http://members.rogers.com/docshadow/Nasty_Baffles.htm ) I went to 170, #35 idle, and 4 on the clip. It still runs slightly rich so I'm going to try the 167.5.
