I am tearing it apart as we speak LOL. Yes i just found a dynatek 3000 module, trying to figure out what it is set at. He added an rpm gauge and it is set at 5000rpm found that out yesterday while riding. As far as elevation i live in Ohio elevation of 991 ft. Let me know where to start on my jetting and i will go from there. How will the dynatek effect jetting? I thought it just changed rev limiter, what exactly does it do? I guess your jetting will be affected at higher rpms, i dont know LOL, thanks again for your help. What brand of jets are best? Hate to spend money for a whole kit if i only need a few sizes, maybe i will drink enough beers and attempt it myself LOL.
I'd invest in a Baron's jet kit, but I'm partial since that's what I've got. It comes with an assortment of Mikuni jets and a custom Baron's needle which is easily adjusted.
Here are my settings at 1,211 ft. elevation:
- Needle with clip on the 3rd groove from the top (the blunt end). One silver washer and the spacer underneath it.
- Main jet is a Mikuni 170
- Stock Pilot Jet
- PMS set at 3.25 turns.
A lot of guys on here have their jet settings in their profile, so you can look in there for some comparisons too. Look for guys with similar elevations to you, it does make a big difference.
I have the Dyna3000 set at the 34A settings and rev at 5000 RPM. The 34A settings comes out to; off, on, on, on, on, off (the last two switches don't matter unless you're using the B settings).
Hope that helps some. Also, if you do end up getting a Baron's jet kit, I'd also get one of their PMS screws--they allow you to adjust the PMS with your fingers instead of having to take the
carb down each time you want to adjust it. They're also fairly inexpensive.
