fvansan... basic thing to remember, if you only swap out the factory pipes for aftermarket, you really dont need to rejet...But when you do the pipes and airbox like your's, you need to rejet... the standard settings are 35 pilot, 170 mik. main, and 3rd or 4th slot from top on an adj. needle. Then you can tweak it from there. Have fun ridin' but it is fun if you can learn these things like I did. Like I said , I was never in a carb till' I got my Roadie, these guys talked me thru it and now its a piece of cake I had a guy with me that knew how to do it the first time..just in case. I wanted to do it because of the ridiculous labor charges from a shop. Have fun with it , let us know what you or the shop find out.

Tell me the numbers on the short fat jets in your kit and I'll get mine and tell you what you have in there. You most likely have the titanium ajustable needle and a #50 pilot in now it is what the dealers call stage 1. It will need changed trust me I found out the hard way.

here what is in the package: short fat jets that are new - 170, 150,175 and an older one that looks like it may be 182.5 but was difficult to read.
Two long jets 60 and 35.

look closle that 150 should be 160 and i found my instructions. what you have now is very likely;

main- mikuni 165
pilot jet- mikuni 50
speedstar needle on 5
pms 2.5 - 3.125

this is using the settings in the instructions. it should run good but bad milage

depending on your altitude you will need to make a change to;

main - 170
pilot - 35
needle - 4
pms 3 turns out

power should still be good but mileage will go up. just ask for help on the details all the info to do it is here. can do it with couple allen wrenchs and a phillips driver. and i suggest when you pull the fuel bowl screws take them down to a hardware store and get new ones preferably with hex heads.

ok, now we are getting somewhere. Thanks for your patience.
According to the internet the airport here is at 1056 feet, but with all the mountains here I would add another 1300 feet for a total of aprox 2350'

BTW, "the needle on 4," would that be counting to 4 groves from the bottom or from the top?

Counting from the blunt end. With your elevation you might try the 3rd groove with 2 washers under the white spacer and it probably wouldn't hurt to pick up a 167.5 mik main.

As the needle sits in the carb .... the top is the blunt end, the bottom is the pointy end.
