Screw size and why am I rich? 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago
My Roadie is pure stock except for a set of Bub's Big Willy pipes w/ 2" baffles. I've done the choke knob trim and it really needed it.
My questions:

1. Why would I be running rich? I can start up in the morning with a couple of twists of the throttle and drive off with no problem.

2. Does anyone know the float bowl screw size? I'd like to have all my parts ready before I start rejetting. I'm going to do a poor mans BAK and I just got in a Dynojet brand kit and a Maxair PMS screw.

Thanks guys!

You're rich cuz they come that way. The float bowl screws are sorta #2 philips but don't be surprised if you strip at least one out. They are very soft. If you have a dremel tool you can cut a straight slot in the head for a flat blade scredriver.

I can't answer directly but......
Does anyone know if the bowl screws on a HRS42 are the same size screw as the stock carb?
I picked up an HSR42 and the bowl screws are 4mm dia. and 12mm long, picked up 25 Stainless steel phillips screws for a couple bucks.
I have not had my stock carb apart, it runs to good

Thanks for the replies. I'm guessing that screw size is about right but I'll know for sure when I get it apart.
My bike runs great too, but I know it's running too rich which is not good.
