i have been watching this thread for a while, and I am pretty surprised. I didn't think that my milage was great, but compared to what some of you are getting, i feel a lot better. I have an 02 with 10000 miles. I have the
BAK, ported manifold, jardine slashcuts, and
dyna 3000. Speed limit where I live is 75, and my speedometer frequently reaches into the 90's for short periods of time. I was having some trouble with
carb last spring, rejetted it myself and average about 46 MPG's. Over the winter I did a little more carb tinkering. I think that my float is still a little to high (haven't had the time to change it), and so for on my 5 tanks this year, I am getting 48. I have only gotten above that illusive 50 once, and that was riding with then wind for well over half the tank. I thought that most everyone had been getting around 50, i was in search of how to stay there on a consistent basis. I guess though, my bike is probably running just about as efficient as it is going to get.
