No fuel pump? 8 Months, 1 Week ago
I read an article on here that says it possible to increase the needle valve to 2.5 and thus eliminate the need for a fuel pump. Has anyone done this? Where can I get the larger 2.5 needle valve? And will I need one needle valve or 2? I've never been in the carb so I don't know.

RIP there's a few on here that have gone pumpless and I'm sure they;ll jump in . Others have just relocated their pump. Good luck with it.

At some point I think I'll do the 2.5 needle plus the vacuam fuel pump.

Re:No fuel pump? 8 Months, 1 Week ago
I relocated my pump, but my complete chop is happening in about 3wks and as much as I'm cleaning up, I don't want to deal with the pump anymore. And because of the new gas tank I can't hide all the wires under the tank like I can now. So I'm going to use the space where my fuel pump is to hide the new wires. I have no intention of replacing the carb, just the part I need to replace. This chop is costing me a small fortune and every red cent I can save is vital right now.

I'm hoping they will chime in soon. I'm going to go to the Suzuki dealer to see if I can get the 2.5 needle valve I need, but I need to know what part it is so it will fit.

Hey Flash, can you post a link to the article please?

Here's the tank BTW:

That's the article I was looking at. If I tank that part number they can give my the part? Will I need only one or two of them? Will I need to rejet after this?

You need the needle and the valve seat, it probably comes as a set..at least it did with mine..should not have to re-jet, but you will at least need to check /re-adjust the float level.. the part nos. are in the article..for 2.3 ans 2.5..be sure to use a vented cap on the new tank...

I know about the vented gas cap. I found one at one time for $75 and now the only one I can find is $150! It's a flush mount with steel weld in bung that I need.
