If you want to do it fast then you need to be lucky.

Start with a Mikuni 170 main, stock pilot, needle on the 5th clip, PMS about 2.5 - 3 turns out.

Do the WOT test. Once the main is OK, raise the clip to 4 and test.

As it sits in the carb ... which is the blunt end up. The grooves are at the top and the top one is 1.

Can you buy the adjustable needle separately or do you have to buy the whole jet kit?

Hmmmm ... good question.

Phone up Baron Custom and find out if they are willing to sell you the needle.

Best to buy the kit as it comes with a selection of jet, shims, float bowl screws, etc..
