1st Gear Sluggish 7 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Have finished jetting but 1st gear seams sluggish
2nd gear is great along with the rest
Just wondering where I need to Tweak it a little

main 170
pilot 35
clip 4
3 turns

when I turn the PMS in all the way nothing happens until just before it bottoms out
then the engine slows down

Is that a Mikuni 170?

What do you mean sluggish?

Is it better when hot or cold?

Might be a bit lean.

If you blip the throttle a little do the rpms drop or do the rpms rise and hang a bit?

The Rpms seem to do a little of both but I would say the rpms seem to rise then slowly get lower

Are you only turnin the PMS 1/4 at a time and lettin it run for a little before turning it another quarter? I noticed on mine that if I turn too much at once it doesn't change.....just a thought.

Polar is correct about the PMS ... you have to turn it very slowly ..... even stopping a bit to let things 'settle in'.

Check that the float level is correct ... it may be necessary to raise if a couple of mm.

Or turn the PMS out 1/2 turn.
