What"s the best plug and how often should you REALY change them.

Isn't any "best". Depends on what your bike likes. Most get along just fine with either NGK or Autolites. I change mine every spring.

I agree with Musky that the bike determines the plug she likes. I'm just using the NGK. I change mine every 8,000 miles and clean'gap them mid-way between replacement.

I know Big Bear has said he has to change his every 5000. I imagine thats when I will be changing mine out, about another month.

I also change mind every spring ...... this year I tried Split Fires .... didn't notice any big change will change back to NGK next year...

anybody got any tips on plug removal? manual says remove tank. after looking around the engine i don't see much space. just wondering if anybody has a better way.

Grab a friend i used my kid remove bolts for speedo and just lay over on a towel on top of handle bars don't bother to disconnect the wiring, take the rear bolt out for gas tank and then just have your help lift the tank while you change the plugs 15 minute job at best, I actually did one plug by myself had about 3/4 tank of gas.
