As I suggested earlier you should go back to the stock single groove needle and the stock jets. Try your dealer. They might have the needle and jets. If you have an HD dealer around they should have the jets. Maybe the needle.

I'm guessing the wrenches at your dealer probably have a box of old needles and jets layin around. Maybe they would work something out with you.

On a trip I will average about 250 miles per tank if I fume it. Usually try to fill up at 200 to 225 miles or so to stay on the upside of reserve. Running stock 2005 jets and carb.

Normal mixed riding conditions (highway + twisty):

Gas light comes on at 156.1 miles, reserve at 177 miles...and that's as far as I'm willing to test capacities

Typically 178-190 before the light flickers...I average just under 44 overall...about 50 on a trip

175 +- before the reserve light comes on....normally pull over shortly after that...i think the most ever was 206 using the reserve, and i got real edgy doing that.

Get about 150 before reserve. Mileage is better in warmer months, probably because less choke time. DJ175 and have tendency to twist throttle to listen to pipes.

I think I've been conditioned by my old "V"star (no gas gauge...)
It seems every time I get gas I've gone 150 miles and I take on 3.5 - 4 Gal.(Depends on how I ride...)
I've hit reserve one time and that was on a highway run of about 210 miles... (I took on 5.2 gal...)
Oh, and I fill the neck up...)

Re:How many miles from a tank are you getting? 2 Months, 1 Week ago
Since my fuel sending unit for the gauge went on the fritz I try and tank up at 150 miles. According to a the last few calculations for MPG I'm only getting about 36/gal. I'm not overly happy about that considering others on here report getting upwards of 40 on a regular basis.

I think I need to do the Musky Enricher Tech and see if I can get a bit more distance out of it.

I just found out how 1 clip position will make a differance
I should be back around 160 when the light comes on(4 gallons)
And the farthest I`ve ever gone was from Brain Head,UT. to the Race
Track at the north of Vegas(around 180-85 miles)filled up 5gals
.3 gallons is as close as I want to get
