I called the shop this morning to get prices on stock
mik jets and needle. I want (I think) to take my
carb back to stock. The shop mechanic and parts guy do not think my jets will make that big of a difference. I'm not that mechanically inclined. I do change my own oil and make mods here and there, but the odds are high that if I took my carb apart then I would have to tow it to a shop.
I had my carb rejeted last Thursday and got 29 mpg. I got 29 mpg before I spent the $200 for the rejet. I don't want to continue to spend money with the same results.
I have
V&H long shots and that's it. No after marker air box, no nitros, no hypercharger, just pipes. I did get a little smoother ride, but no increase in fuel economy.
Because of the expense involved I want to ask again about rejetting again. You guys feel that me going to a 182.5/35 single position needle will give me the better mpg's?
The shop installed a 175, 37; I;mnot sure what they did with the needle. I asked them to tell me but they forgot to call!
Help.
