As I said before, I won't be touching my bike till the weekend, so I've been thinking about it.
Concurred by Doc, I thought I'd try 170
main since the current 172.5 is rich, but I'm itching to try the 167.5 first. Here's why.
Before rejetting to the current 172.5 main, I was running a K&N filter on that stock airbox that was missing a square plug. Musky, Flashback, and Big Bear helped me out, but the conclusion was that I was riding with free flowing unfiltered air into the
carb. But the bike was running fine except for the pump not keeping up and starving the carb.
Other than the fuel pump removal, I've added Big Bear's old ported manifold and changed to a Barons
BAK, which should actually be more restrictive than a free flowing busted air box. Would these changes require a 165 to 170 change, or a 167.5 change? I guess the actual quesiton is, how big a difference does a ported manifold make? I know I should just try both at
WOT, but testing out the theory with you guys first.
