The DJ kit only came with one washer. Probably a silly question, but I'd rather ask and know... considering the different diameter & taper of the DJ and stock needles, however slight it might be, do you see any problem using the washers (or at least one of them) off the stock needle?

If I remember correctly,your suppost to transfer the stock parts to the Dyno jet needle and only use the kit supplied washer for half steps.And the taper of the
dyno jet needle is quiet abit dfferent and flows LOTS more fuel than tne stock one
(the supplied instuctions show the proper sequince of the transfered parts)

Now that you mention it, I remember that little diagram on the rather fuzzy instruction sheet supplied with the kit. Guess I was concentrating too hard on not dropping little washers & springs & stuff with these big paws of mine and blew right past that...my bad!

Good luck on you upcoming marriage.

The needle washers come in different sizes based on their colors. The silver ones are equivalent to 1/2 clip.

Well, I just put the two washers on from the original needle...figured a matching pair is always good. Also did some MMO in the tank and sprayed the carb down 'till she died. Tomorrow ought to be fun startin' her up. Then I'm gonna take a 160+ mile ride tomorrow afternoon, with most of it on a 75 MPH speed limit highway, so it'll be an interesting test of mileage and performance.

Sorry to inform you JJ, but the stealth is SUBSONIC, meaning it does not break the speed of sound which is MACH1. However the SR71 BLACKBIRD is black and goes over MACH3. Top speed of the SR71 is still classified, it is thought however to be faster than MACH4 but no one will say.

Well, a little update...still running the tank of gas with the MMO in it through the bike (no chance for a long ride, let alone short one). I was surprised when I doused the carb with MMO and let it sit overnight...not much smoking &amp; popping at all the next morning.

It seems to run a little richer at idle, and now dies whenever I apply choke. Before jetting, I could apply choke after bike was started to warm it up faster. Now if I try to choke it while started, it dies instantly. I replaced the stock pilot with the DJ pilot that came with the kit, DJ 175 main, DJ needle, 4th clip from the top &amp; washers from stock needle, 2.75 turns on PMS. I beleive the pilot controls idle...what do you think, take out DJ pilot and replace with stock?

I also added the Speedstar Comp K&amp;N air box, and as of yesterday I have a set of Hard Krome 3&quot; Big Straights on the way to replace the stock headers and Cobra Slash Cut Slip-Ons that came with the bike and are on there now. NOW I just need to find mounting brackets/hardware for the Hard Kromes. I got them new, but at a DEEP discount because the mounting hardware was missing. So far, Hard Krome has not returned calls or emails. Happy to buy them, just NEED THEM!

Man, the AIS removal was SO worth it...no more popping!

The &quot;half-firing&quot; of the rear cylinder I described in my original post continues. I don't know if I need to run the whole tank of gas through with the MMO and be patient, or to go ahead and try replacing the plug wires.

As always, I look forward to everyone's insight. And as Musky says, please remember to take into consideration that the bike IS white, so it's naturally faster already...

Thank you for correcting me I am pretty cluless as to aviation however I do hope that others will take note of your post that clarifies that black is the fastest color

I'd use the #35 pilot first.

Seems like some guys are having luck with the DJ170, so if the #35 doesn't help change to that next.

Before changing the wires, switch out the plugs from front to back. A bad plug will causes 'misfiring'. Sometimes you can find it by pulling the plug cap off the spark plug and slowing moving the cap away from the plug.
