whats that mean? 7 Months ago

I've been trying to dial my bike in since changing to my K&N and Barrons jet kit. When I give a quick jerk on the throttle I get a poof of air..kind of a sputter I guess. It doesn't do it all of the time probably 80% though. Whats that mean?
170 main
2 1/2 to 2 3/4 out on pms
fourth groove down with spacers and washers as stock

It means that Roadies don't like to be "blipped" Don't blip the throttle and your fine. Totally normal

The bike has died on me once when I applied throttle normally and I 'bout dropped it because I was in the middle of a u-turn. I didn't have this issue b4.

I wouldn't recommend any fuel but 87 as the manual recommends
If your Roadie was not warmed up that could happen.
Anytime you quickly twist the throttle it could do exactly what you are describing.
I think your settings are ok.
Hope that helps

You could mess with the acell screw some and see if it helps. My bike does it until it's all warmed up. And don't blip.

Good Point Musky!! I forgot I changed mine and put the nut behind the bolt and that helped a lot! It reduces how much fuel gets sprayed into the carb when you twist the throttle.
Take your air cleaner off and twist the throttle (when bike is off!) and you will see a squirt of fuel go into the carb adjust the screw until it squirts much less fuel than stock. I ended up moving the nut to the back side of the bolt to get more adjustment. Just don't twist the throttle too much when its off or you will flood it and it won't start trust me
