Replace Main Jet w/o removing carb? 7 Months ago
Can I replace the main jet without removing the carb?

I did this with the Pilot jet, but is it possible with the Main?

Thanks,

-Chad

sure can, drain the bowl take out the screws, and take the jet out and replace.
a little tricky do not bend the float, pulling the bowl out and back in.

I've done it both ways; carb on and carb off. (Many times) It's too easy to take the carb off for me to do it with it on the bike. Only takes me a few minutes more to take it off and take it to my bench. Just my preference.

Is the Main Jet slotted so all I need is a screw driver (like the Pilot)?

I replaced my screws with little bolts and about 6 washers each. I can loosen and tighten them easily and putting them back in is just as easy. But remember to torque and retorque. I'm thinking I should use some superglue to make the stacks more permenant.

Be careful so you don't strip them, the carb casting is very soft aluminum, thats why they used the softer screws..
