First move the needle to 4th from the top (blunt end) with the white space and sliver washer underneath. Test out.

Check out the Tech Articles. There's an article there on how to adjust the acceleator pump.

Doc,

OK thanks.

I just got back from a test ride with needle on 5th. PMS at 4 turns and much improved over yesterday but if I tried real hard I could get it to pop and crackle on rapid decel. Still a little lean? Would a 40 pilot do it or am I thinking wrong? With 4 turns, I am backed up to the point of no tweaking in that direction. Set me straight if I sound dumb here but I thought 40 pilot and see where the PMS ends up.

We'll get it. Just a matter of time and there is only one thing I would rather do on the bike besides tinker and that is ride.

If I try 'real hard' I can get mine to backfire but I'm not going to rejet it. If you're lean on the pilot you'll get popping around 1500-2000 when you decclerating ... always. I that case you turn the PMS out 1/4 turn at a time until it disappears.

Once you start getting above 4 turns or so then, yes you would need a larger pilot to accommodate. The size of the pilot you will need depends on how much more you need. With a previous setup, I found a 37.5 did the trick.

Doc,

Thanks again! This is a great place to go for anything you may run into with the bikes. I love it. And by the way, your bike is awesome. I admire it every time I open a reply from you. Excellent job.

Hey Everyone!

Just saw for the first time that the 04/07 Roadies sometimes suffer from SVS (sticky valve syndrome). Could someone describe how it would act more specifically and how to fix it. I assume Seafoam or something like it might be the cure? I have been having a problem that comes and goes if you have followed the schitzo roadie threads. Doc, I used the seafoam last night but too rainy today to burn it out. I will go right now in the 50 degree rain if you think I shouldn't wait till tomorrow.

No ... wait till it stops raining.

Search on SVS .... you'll find more than you want to know.
