By not using the one metal washer on the bottom that sets the needle deeper into the jet meaning you are leaning it out.

Hi Musky,

Thank you for that link to the service manual, what a great tool that is. I figured that the mystery hose I am looking at starts at the charcoal canister. The canister has two lines out, one labeled carb that goes up to the carb. The other line labeled tank goes up to a plastic rectangular box near the fuel pump, not that long, about 10 inches, so its limited in options where to connect it, I can't find anything close to it, so then it goes out to i'm guessing atmosphere.

I did see a small inlet on the bottom of the tank when I was putting it back on, tried to make that connection but it did not reach, any idea what that little inlet is on the bottom center of the gas tank?

If it makes a difference, I took all the AIS off and my bike is a 03.

Best Riding,
Mike

Post edited by: 03MochaStar, at: 2006/09/13 03:38

Hey Mike
The charcoal canister is part of the AIS, California model. It can come off. Did you see this in the tech tips? Might help.

Hi Musky,

I was hoping that canister would be coming off. That is the part of the tech tip I was missing in removing my AIS. It's weird, I did not see that in the tech tip from nopork.com http://roadstarclinic.com/content/view/47/105/

With the charcoal canister off, I can get rid of all those pesty vac. hoses.

Thanks for getting me through this and sending me all the info. I am going back in today to finish cleaning up the engine.

Best Riding,
Mike
