need help 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I HAVE A 2006 ROAD STAR. I REMOVED THE AIS ADDED HARDCHROME LONG SHOT PIPES AND THE BIKE RAN JUST FINE. NOW I HAD THE DEALER INSTALL A TWIN VELOCITY AIR BOX BY KURYAKYN. NOW THE BIKE COUGHS SOMETIMES AT STOP SIGNS AND WHEN WARMED UP IDLES TO FAST. THE DEALER HAS TRIED TO ADJUST IT BUT AFTER 3 TIMES TO THE SHOP IT STILL ISN'T RIGHT. RUNS GREAT DOWN THE HIWAY. ANY SUGGESTION ON JETTING SIZE AND ADJUSTMENTS WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS

You aren't blipping the throttle at the stop sign are you? Roadies hate that. Could be a carb adjustment/jetting problem too. Not my area of expertise but someone will be along shortly with some advise. Good luck.

Try turning the idle down after it's warmed up.

Cables might need to be lubed. The vacuum slide might be sticking. You might need to take it out and clean it up.

If the dealer installed the TV without jetting .... you need to rejet.

If the dealer re-jetted according to Kury's recommendations .... you need to rejet.

So .... you need to find out what has been done and what's inside the carb.

Hey VIRG, I'm lookin at the HK 3" long shots as well for my 07 Roadie, how do you like em'? I'm thinking of getting the "Res Tech" ones. Any goods or bads you have would be great.
