Shift with clutch 5 Months ago
I have always used the clutch lever when shifting and some fellow riders have said once you go to 2nd you dont need the clutch. Well for the most part it is habit because I can shift with out the clutch. My question is it hard on tranny or clutch to do so. Thanks in advance. Bofish

Don't think it would bother the clutch much, but it can be hard on the tranny if your a little off on you shift...

She'll let you know if the gears aren't hittin right. Just about any manual tranny can be shifted without the clutch as long as you know what rpm's they'll engage at. I used to drive a truck with a 10 speed Road Ranger, only used the clutch to take off in first.

Just use the clutch. Then you don't have to worry about it.

It can be done, but why? If the clutch cable breaks and you have to, that is one thing. But to do it just to do it is pointless. I don't know whether it will hurt anything or not, and I don't want to find that it wasn't such a good idea when I'm out in the middle of nowhere about 40 miles from civilization.
