clutch 6 Days, 8 Hours ago
I know this has been discussed here already, But I am new to the road star and the clutch spring setup. my bike slips under hard throttle. the bike has a v@h long shot and big air filter, was jetted by the dealer by the previous owner. what is better , a stronger diaphragm are a spring conversion. can l use a spring conversion with a stock clutch. any input will be welcome

Barnett pressure plate conversion. The stock basket and plates are great, as long as you use the right torque wrench and step torque the pressure plate on. The Barnett pressure plate provides more consistent clamping force in my opinion than the flat spring of the original design, which is highly dependent on symmetrical mounting to provide even pressure. The Belleville washer (flat diaphragm spring) is a great weight saver where significant pressure is desired in a compact area, but I don't feel it is ideal in this application.

Check your cable tension first. Needs to have just a hair of free play. If that's not it, Barnett is the best.
