I had 'the shimmy' on my bike from the time it was new until I replaced the front tire.

I still can't tell you what it was from, just that she doesn't do it anymore.
Jasonl, sounds like your local stealership needs glasses.

Nobody knows what your bike feels like or does, better than you do. If it doesn't feel right or look right to you, trust your gut.

Not every place of course, but, I have found that often, the tech or whoever just doesn't want to deal with researching and resolving something that they consider a waste of their time.

If your * is still under warranty, don't let it go, make em fix it. If it's not, ask some of the riders in your area who they use and take it to an independant shop.
For the first couple of years I've had my *, I didn't know about the clinic, so, I was on my own. Now, having some personal experience trying to figure out the little excentricities and the resources available here, I feel a lot more confident about jumping into an improvement or repair job. Knowing there are a bunch of guys who have had some of the same issues and are willing to share that knowledge is invaluable.
