Hi Wig-Wam! Yup it's getting close to that time of year again in BC as well.
It is a good idea to put in fresh oil. And if you have a bike stand, jack it up for the winter as well. It doesn't hurt to stretch out the suspension and keep weight off the tires. If you have a battery tender, plug that in. Rumour has it, it's better to keep the battery topped up than to remove it and let it weaken slowly.

Also don't forget to drain the carb.
Put a teaspoon of oil in each cylinder and turn over once. Or you can buy some spray oil for each cylinder.
Make sure tank is full of gas.

Winter Storage?? What's that? We'll be walking around in short sleeve shirts at Christmas. I think it froze twice last year. It will be a little chilly now and then and we may get the odd ice storm. Now I know why some of the bikes I see on Cycle Trader are several years old with just a couple of thousand on the odometer.
Winter storage down here is when the tap water get cool to cold so you can store the ice cubes and your Ice Tea doesn't get watered down as fast. Texas is hotter 'n hell in the summer but the winters are OK. It was 95 today and will be 93 tomorrow. It got cold last night, it was 73. We still have the air conditioning on. well enuf of that I guess.
