My son took his down at Chattanooga State. It is off Amacola highway about a mile downstream from Chickamauga dam. Good course there and they use an assortment of smaller bikes to learn on.

My wife is signed up for the basic rider course here in Alpharetta at the end of Sept. We'll see if she "gets it" or not. I'm hoping so.

Good luck to your respective ladies, Mark and Starrider. I like hearing that people are taking the safety course. It is such a good program... It doesn't teach everything, but it gives a solid foundation and good habits.

I work and ride with two MSF instructors. When I went shopping for this latest bike, one of them told me that two types of riders are involved in the majority of serious bike accidents, the 1) idiot riders on crotch rockets who have no respect for the bike and the road and 2) old farts like me who have been riding forever and think they know everything. I signed up for the course and have no regrets at all. My reflexes and body strength aren't what they were when I started riding back in 1976.

I've taken both the Basic and Advanced rider courses. I'd MUCH rather spend my money on a class where I get to ride a motorcycle all day than on the deductible for my health insurance.

'Nuff Said!

I took the class and enjoyed it very much and picked up a pointer or two. Out of the ten riders... eight were HDs, one Honda and my R*.
