42mm carb TPS & dyna3000 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago  
I need help! does the dyna 3000 negate the yamaha TPS system? I am installing a makuni 42mm carb already have the Dyna 3000 installed and am confussed around the TPS system resistors,VOES, not sure any direction would be great thanks in advance

The TPS gives feedback to the ignition module to advance the timing.

The 42 does not have a TPS so you loose that function. Your bike will run the WOT setting all the time.

So do i just leave it and remove TPS wiring?

no, but very highly recommended. If you read that article Randy explains why, but in a nutshell not using any type of spark advance mechanism (either tps or voes) leaves you running in wot mode. This is a timing retard mode that is designed to prevent pinging under high accelleration. Performance is somewhat lackluster although a lot of guys have done it and been happy with it.

So, its recommended but not required. alternatively you can just unplug the tps from its socket in teh wiring harnes and run without anything. The Dyna 3000 will default to wot mode.
