They'll fit fine. No mods or tinkering needed.

Thanks Musky,,,,makes feel a little better... I realy Dig the deep mellow sound of the propipe, the Guys at V&H told me you have to spread the head pipes out a bit at a risk of breaking weld...etc.. lets hope for the best..

I dont know..Cobra separates their exhaust systems
99 to 03 1600 's
from the 04 and up 1700 's
go to their website
and so do Vance and Hines...go to their web site...the pro pipe is for the 1600's and they dont show it fitting the 1700 's
WHY???
And yet as you say BB has them on his 1700..???
but here is something to think about
the yamaha part numbers for the two exhaust head pipe assemblies in 2003 are 4WM-14610-00-00/4WM-14620-00-00
in 2004 that changed to 5VN-14610-00-00/5VN-14620-00-00

I have the Propipe on my 1700. Bolted right on with little or no effort. Fit great.

I have the ProPipe on my 05 and it went on just fine. Only issue I had was the mating up of the muffler to the head pipe, not the head pipes themselves. You have to get everything just right so that the heat sheilds and pipes line up just right. I ended up assembling the whole smash off of the bike and installing as a piece, only had to loosen up the right footboard to slide it past.
Great choice by the way, great sound, not too loud except when you want it to roar. Dont even know its on there at steady state speeds.

Ran it with No issue for 10,000 or so miles. Keep an eye on the baffle bolts though , they tend to get loose (but they did that on my Sabre as well). BB
