Gold Pipes 5 Months, 1 Week ago  
we just bought mt neice her first bike last night it's a suzuki s40 boulevard 650 single cylinder and the first 16 inches of the pipe are yellowed is there any way to clean them up for her also some melted rideing pants on the pipe just behind the foot peg .she got an extremely good deal and is really looking forward to takeing her rideing class next week so she can ride her new scoot.any help would be great . thanks

Dont Use This Product !!! It's very abrasive will scratch your chrome . lucky i tride on the bottum of the pipe first !!

There is no chemical way to remove the gold or blue that you see on pipes. If there was I'd be a rich guy.

All methods involve rubbing the chrome off. .... as you have already found out.

Black BBQ paint. Or get new pipes with heat shields or double walled.

Ooops, sorry about that Redstar I didn't realize that crap damages pipes. I have never needed it personally. Some friends of mine used it and told me works, which I guess it does remove the discoloration. They just failed to mention how it works.

don't know about getting the gold off. try wd40 and 0000 steel wool to get the melted rubber or leather off.

Agreed. Some bikes are for show, some to ride. I ride mine. (never ever dirty..lol) but I ride mine.
