Hey Dave...

Just to answer any questions that may come up about my setup being too rich, I don't have any black smoke coming from my pipes. I used to be able to start it cold with very slight choke pulled or just pumping the throttle a couple times, but now the temps have dropped and it won't start without choke pulled 1 or 2 clicks. Haven't pulled a plug to look but to me I see no obvious reasons to mess with it. Good luck.

mine also takes about 3clicks of the choke to start.And before with the
DJ170, PMS at 3 1/4 saw black puffs if throttle with choke on.Did not with the new
DJ195,PMS at 2.I think the larger jetting gives you more room to work with on the PMS screw.Still I get a little backfiring on hard decel

I do too still until it's REALLY warmed up.......If I get on the freeway within the first 15 minutes, as soon as I let off the throttle I get one big pop...Works great if someone's on my butt and I want to scare em. I've just had to learn to accept it. I improved it from how it originally was, and am too afraid to upset the delicate balance now that it runs well.
