Clogged Jet? 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago
HELP PLEASE! Bike is 3 months old. 2100 miles on it. The only mod is Stage 1 to the stock exhaust. Took it up to the smokies and put about 1500 miles on it up there. Ran great. Came back to FLA and rode fine the few times I used it. Took it out of the garage the other day, choked it and fired it up just like normal. Everything sounded fine but when I pushed in the choke halfway down the road, it started sputtering real bad. Pulled the choke back out and it ran better. Drove about 10 mins down the road and tried putting in the choke again. Not good. Won't idle and jerks on steady cruise. Fine under acceleration. Replaced the plugs although they looked perfect. Same result. Could this be a carb problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I would say so. Mine did exactly this after carb mods until I corrected the settings. Take it back to dealer. i would not monkey with it while it is under warranty. If you do they may decline your coverage.

You could have a bad tank of fuel. How long has the bike been sitting since the last ride , and did this start shortly after a fill up. Might not hurt to turn the petcock OFF , disconnect the hose from the petcock , get a piece of gas line long enough to reach a plastic gas can , stick it back on the petcock , turn the petcock to reserve , and let it drain all out. Put in some fresh fuel and see how it runs. Inexpensive way to start looking for your problem. BB

Got it. Collar for the breather was loose and letting too much air in. As soon as I tightened it up the beast was back. Guess I had a BAK for a day. Thanks for the replies, I appreciate the help.
