#111311 Txroaddog (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 3 Ticking sound from lower exhaust pipe. 3 Months, 1 Week ago   Any info? What make this strange the bike runs good, until you shut down the engine and the ticking begins. Lasts 2-3 minutes then goes away. But what makes this more interesting, if you tap the heat shield the ticking goes away. Dealer says this is normal as the exhaust cools down. Megacone none... Bikes are supposed to tick when you shut em down. the metals expand on heating and on cool down they contract....the pinging is the shield going back to its original shape after being warped slightly by the heat.....
