2006 runs rough 4 Months, 1 Week ago
Can anyone help? i have an 2006 midnight star. Jetted 3" hard cromes pipes, K&N filter. Bought my bike new had the problem right from the start. Rear cylinder starts shotting flame about a mile from home. I pull out hold it wide open & the problems clear. I have to change plugs every 2 months and the rear are black and the fronts are Tan coloured. i've had it into the dealer several times. They've took the heads off, cleaned the carb out, replaced the valve springs, jetted about 6 different sizes becuase every dealer keeps telling me it is a jetting problem. I change the plugs and it runs great for a while until the back plugs start to foul up. I find it strange that on the back plugs go black and it happens so quickly. Then the problem proceeds to get worse until no power at all. when I change the plugs the problem is TEMPORARILY solved again. Is this carb or wiring problems? Any suggestions?

It's too fast, throwing all of the fuel to the back cylinder

Roadstars...got a love 'em!

Actually, I don't have a clue.

I had a similar problem on my '04 when I was running 91 octane gas. Are you running regular? 86/87.

Float Level? Causing raw fuel to go to rear cylinder eventually fouling rear plug?
