Front wheel grinding sound ... 3 Months ago
Hello all,

My roadie has started making a sound from my front wheel when turning left at slow speeds. It sounds a little bit like a grinding sound and I can feel it in the handlebars. (At high speeds I don't notice it) Not for sure what it is, whether it is brake pads on the rotor (it sounds off even when not applying the front brakes and the front brakes tend to squeak when I apply them), or wheel bearing or tire. My tire pressure is good, 36 PSI in front and 41 in rear. Anyone ever had any problems like this?

Ride safe...

Sounds like it could be the brake pads. Do you have enough miles on the bike to wear out a set of pads? Take a flashlight and shine on the pads to see if they look too thin. If it looks like it might be close, unbolt the calipers and make sure.

I'm having the same problem,I thought it was brake pads and they do rub if you roll the bike, engine off.I took the handle bars off to check the neck bolt and I'll be damned if it hadn't backed off since the visit a couple weeks ago to the shop, there's nothing really keeping it fromm backing off again either, would be nice if they would have added a cotter pin hole and standard nut to prevent this, the grind and clatter goes away when it's tight. My front tire is cupping also and I run 40psi in both tires. The belt rollers were loose also, adding to the vibrations.Easy fixes but a little annoying.
