Two things that are wrong. You don't know what you have for a main and there are cracks in the manifold. Can't give any kind of educated answer with unknown or questionable parts.

Maybe it's the ign box. Do you still have the stock plug caps? If you do it might be one or more of the resistors going bad.

We don't need the resistors in the plug caps because we run resistor plugs. You can get some #6 copper ground wire (2 bucks / foot) and cut 4 pieces the length of the long resistors. Then just replace the resistors with the wire. Gets rid of parts that can break that we don't need anyway.

If you're going to stay stock on the air box and jetting I would just stay with the stocker. You won't really get anything out of a ported mani unless you do the other things. You should make a new post asking if anyone has an ign box and mani.

Just a thought. Try and get an ign box from a 1700. The 1600's had a 4250 rev limit. The 1700's have 4750. It's a direct swap. No mods needed.

If there our no marks on the main jet it is most likely a #205 mikuni main jet it will be to rich for a stock air box.

They're in the plug caps. Turn the cap over and you will see the brass piece that fits over the plug. It has a slot in it for a screwdriver. Unscrew it and dump the resistor out. A small washer will come out of 2 of the caps. You don't need to re-use them. A spring might come out too. You do need that. Put the spring back in, then the copper wire, and screw the brass piece back in. You'll have 2 long resisitors and 2 short ones. Cut the copper to the length of the long ones.
