Man... Sorry about the rotten luck. Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Sounds like the kid is going to be okay too, and that's a good thing. Is there any way you can find out his condition, maybe through your insurance agent, or something?

hardone, you are a little closer to me than he is, but not much. I am looking into my options as far as going after his parents to help "make me whole" and possibly avoid having the claim on my insurance. I'm not trying to get rich off of his mistake, but I have paid for my mistakes, now it is his turn. We will see, but you guys will be among the first to know what happens.

I don't mean to jump the gun, but if those of you that MIGHT be interested could send me a message telling me what a reasonable price would be, it may help in my decision making. By no means am I offering this bike yet, I just have no idea what the value of a salvage title Roadie would be. Like I said, what someone would reasonably pay would be some very helpful info. Thanks again, and hopefully, I will have a reason to stay a member of this forum. You guys are great.

I have no idea, I would have to see the bike and see what I wanted off it. If you come up with a price, and it sounds good to me, we can work something out, otherwise I am sure Gram or some one will take it off your hands.

some one will take it, bet your.... dollar on that.

Re:Totaled Roadie 4 Months ago
Mine was damaged in my mishap as well. the shop that did the repairs fixed it for me and you cannot tell it was repaired. The key is to be sure that the impact to the stop did not distort the lower bearing housing for the triple tree.
They did not dimantle the bike to do it. Just removed the forks.
The mechanic dod tell me that he would write the bike off if I wanted them to because of that. i said no because i like the bike and the damage was only cosmetic except for the stop.

Glad you and the ped are OK.

Glad all is well....

Now you have a great opportunity to chop the heck out of your Roadie! Most of us ride around wanting to really hack away at it but not having the gumption, skills or cash to do so. Now you can take a shot at it and risk nearly nothing! Rake it, 18" over springer, hardtail, go 70's crazy! Maybe a blower too and lots of flames!
