Which pipes to get? 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
With my new Midnight Silverado arriving soon, I thought I'd get a head start on choosing pipes.

I'm looking for a deep, mellow growl, not a rat-a-tat-tat machine gun sound. I'm still young and I need my hearing to last!

Whatdaya all think?

I agree 100%....big thing is if you can. I just got done putting these on, Roadhouse Classics with serrated shields. Very nice low rumble, not too loud. I'll give em a road test tomorrow, Hannah's busy dumping rain on us.

    Thanks...good stuff so far.

Wow, the Khromes seem like a good start for the money, espically if no re jet is required. I could see doing that until next pay raise and maybe then a set of more serious pipes with a jet kit.

Am I reading this correct that, generally, if the headers are not changed then re-jetting isn't required?

No re-jet for any pipes, don't let that influence your decision. Have fun, took me two years to decide.

RoadHouse if you like the dualie look. Once you get rid of the leaks(yes, there were a couple), it's a nice setup.

I'm in the same boat. Haven't decided what style I want to go with the bike yet. Local show tonight, I may go get some ideas. Leaning towards the Jug Huggers so far.

The Khrome Werks for me were a great way to change the sound for little $. I'm not pushing 'em, just letting you know for my wife and I, they've got the sound we like. There are plenty of choices out there, and the suggestion to listen to any first (if you can), is the best idea. I didn't do that, but I'm satisfied with what I got. Just my 2 cents.
