I also got the Krome Werks. Like the sound, and not a lot of money. When I ordered the Krome Werks, I figured if I didn't like the sound I could sell them on ebay and get most of my money back.

The Khrome Werks for me were a great way to change the sound for little $. I'm not pushing 'em, just letting you know for my wife and I, they've got the sound we like. There are plenty of choices out there, and the suggestion to listen to any first (if you can), is the best idea. I didn't do that, but I'm satisfied with what I got. Just my 2 cents.
Are these louder than Stage 1 on the stock exhaust? Thanks in advance.

welcome to the clinic! Which look do you like. There are lots of different looks. You are going to get most people saying they like their pipes the best. I have the HK 3" big straights. Pretty loud with baffles in and its a little tinny sounding. So don't think you'll like them based upon the low growl rumble sound you're going for. I think first thing is determine the look you like and then narrow down a short list and then try to hear them on the R* if you can.

I would believe they are Liferider1. I've read where Stage 1 works for a lot of riders for a while, but they eventually go to louder pipes. Not all, but many have. I would say mine are louder than stock Stage 1.

MidStar07,
I think the sound that I want is the same one you are looking for. My bike has a set of Bub's Big Willys with the bigger (louder) baffles. 2" I think. The sound is close to right but I think If I had the 1.5" baffles it would probably be right on. Two issues though... I have found out that the changeable tips are chrome plated billet and the chroming sucks big time. If I keep these pipes I'll probably have a local company de-chrome them and put a black coating on. Second issue I just found. They aren't on Bubs website now. But there's probably still stock available with dealers.

To bad pipes are so expensive because it is hard to get the look and the sound you want the first time. I had HK K2's for a while and like was said they are tinny. I made several baffles for them and got real close but I wanted to lower my bags so I picked up this set of Bub Studdies with baffles and torque cone both on e-bay. The baffles sucked for me so I put the cones in and I love them. They are loud but that is the sound I wanted. I got another 6 hp and only lost 1 ft lb of torque. Everyone has a different idea of the sound they want so good luck and welcome to the clinic.

I went with the Sampson Ripsaws. Little pricey but they sound awesome. plus they sit low so that opens up your options when its time for bigger bags. There is no mistaking when im around. Nice deep sound.

find out first the look you want then listen to as many pipes as you can....
Curt and others have made sound clips of their pipes and you may be able to get some from manufacturers web sites or you tube....
Click on my website and I have sound clips of the cobra classic intro the megacone and the Double eagles...
and even then... unless you have studio quality mics the pipes still sound deeper and rumblier in real life...
Then comes price.. quality... availability...good luck..
