You really do need to hear them in person. When I bought my bike in July, it had V & H Longshots (baffles in) on it. They're great, but a little louder than I would have chosen. I have to consciously be quiet in the neighborhood to keep the peace. Another consideration is power. The two into ones and the double connected pipes like V & H Powershots will provide more power through their scavenging effects. They don't necessarily have to be louder to provide more power. Supposedly, the Powershots can add up to 8 hp to your scoot. That is significant!

Remember that what ever pipes you buy, your going to have a set sitting in the garage waiting for you to mod them. You might want to Mod the stock pipes first and see what you think, they may be what your looking for and you won't have to buy another set of pipes...
Just a thought...
You can always buy another set if they don't work out.

I can see your point on modifying the stockers if your staying with the stock air box.... However if you are looking at changing up your intake I would look at getting after market pipes. I say this because I intalled a BAK on my bike and even with mods I am not getting great results on setting up my carb due to the restrictions in the exhaust that can not be modified.
Can agree the sound is pretty good but as soon as I can decide on a set of pipes I am switching out. This should help me properly adjust the settings from feedback I have received.

Exactly... you can gut the stockers for more sound but as with slip ons you still have the restricted head pipes...

I just installed a set of Cobra 2 into 1 pipes and found them too loud for my liking. Upon enquiry, was told that Cobra are making alternate baffles for these pipes but will be several weeks away. For me it was a matter of changing the set back out of modifying.
After some sole-searching on why I'd just forked out lots of $$ on new pipes I decided to remove the baffle to see what I could do. I visited a local muffler / exhaust shop and they assisted me with a modification to the baffle. Effectively, the modification resulted in the exhaust flow being directed through a baffle. NOTE: The standard 2 into 1 system design allows the exhaust flow from both headers to pass directly through a very short poor attempt at a baffle.
The overall result of my modification was quite pleasing. It took the edge off the excessive noise blast but maintained a pleasant note.
A word of caution, if anyone is considering fitting the Cobra 2 into 1 system make certain that you find a bike which has already been fitted and listen up close the noise. Some people may be looking for the standard sound but for me I like to enjoy the ride without additional hearing protection and complaints from my neighbours.

Well, based on a lot of what I read here, and what my wallet can handle right now, I've ordered Khrome Werks tapered. Cheryl was cool and knew a lot about what we are all looking for. Of note, she said that these are glass packed, which filters out a lot of the high frequencies. Sounded good to me and the $$ was really good. I will report back late next week!typo
Question: do these slip-ons eliminate the stock exhaust's crossover and does anyone think that changes the power....lower? Higher? Moves the powerband a little? Just wondering....matters not at the moment because I've GOT TO HEAR THIS BIKE SOMEDAY!

They do eliminate the crossover MidStar07. Khrome Werks states the hp remains the same, which seems to be essentially true. Be sure to read about avoiding pushing the front jug's header pipe up against the brake assembly, as well as the other posts about popping on decel, etc. Bad things happen then. Since I took the AIS offline, these pipes sound fantastic now. A little deeper, a little punchier.
