Re:Totaled Roadie 4 Months ago
Honestly, right now I am looking forward to a bike that I don't have payments on. I looked at the stop on the frame today and it really looks very simple. A little welding, a little grinding, and bam, back on the road. Technically, I could leave it as is, but it looks too easy to leave that way. I don't really have the room to do a teardown right now, but some things like the Corbin hard bags would be nice. That and an Ultimate saddle. The final decision will be made once I get the settlement offer from Allstate.

The really sad part is that I just had the tranny recall done and she only has 6k miles total.

Thanks for the input folks, I really appreciate it.

Hmmmm, dream Roadie...

Well, here's the big update. First, since I don't have clear title, the bike has to go away somewhere until Allstate gets the title, at which point it will be available. More on that in a minute.

For an '01 Silverado with 6053 miles (bonus points for low mileage), Allstate is settling with me for $7,710.65 (in case you were wondering what yours may be worth). I am actually making money on the deal, considering I paid $6800 two months ago and put almost 1700 miles on it.

As far as buying the old bike back, if anyone is really interested, let me know and I can look into it further. Otherwise, I have found a new '07 Silverado for $11k out the door with hard bags and passenger floorboards. It sounds like a great deal to me, except for not having FI. Sorry, but that would be better in my book (I am buying it to ride, not tinker with). There needs to be another bike in the garage before the wife forgets how much she enjoys riding and won't let me get another.

Thanks for your input and let mw know if you are interested in the scrapped bike.

Re:Totaled Roadie 3 Months, 4 Weeks ago
hey sorry about the mis-hap. hopefully all will work out in the end. Me personally I would take the Ins. check and go with fresh iron. I think you can do better than 11k on an 07. I paid 10k for a 07 midnight in June and I think I paid to much. I've seen them for 8,500 in Mich. on E-bay. Not inc shipping ($500 generaly ). I picked up mine myself. New is good!

Sounds like it is time to check out ebay. Thanks for the tip.

Flashback, I'm not sure how it will play out, but this will be the place I'll announce it. Thanks
